چکیده

We study the tail behavior of the distribution of certain subadditive functionals acting on the sample paths of L evy processes. The functionals we consider have, roughly speaking, the following property: only the points of the process that lie above a certain curve contribute to the value of the functional. Our assumptions will make sure that the process ends up eventually below the curve. Our results apply to ruin probabilities, distributions of sojourn times over curves, last hitting times and other functionals.

On the Lower Semicontinuous Envelope of Functionals Defined on Polyhedral Chains

In this note we prove an explicit formula for the lower semicontinuous envelope of some functionals defined on real polyhedral chains. More precisely, denoting by H : R → [0,∞) an even, subadditive, and lower semicontinuous function with H(0) = 0, and by ΦH the functional induced by H on polyhedral m-chains, namely

Moderate Deviations for Stationary Processes

We obtain asymptotic expansions for probabilities of moderate deviations for stationary causal processes. The imposed dependence conditions are easily verifiable and they are directly related to the data-generating mechanism of the underlying processes. The results are applied to functionals of linear processes and nonlinear time series. We carry out a simulation study and investigate the relat...

Tail Asymptotics for the Supremum of an Independent Subadditive Process, with Applications to Monotone-separable Networks

Tail asymptotics for the supremum of an independent subadditive process are obtained as a function of the logarithmic moment generating function. We use this analysis to obtain large deviations results for queueing networks in their stationary regime. In the particular case of (max,plus)-linear recursions, the rate of exponential decay of the stationary solution can be explicitly computed.

Impulse Control and Optimal Portfolio Selection with General Transaction Cost

In this paper we study an optimal portfolio selection problem under general transaction cost. We consider a simplified financial market that consists of a risk free asset and a risky asset, but the admissible portfolios are only allowed to have piecewise constant paths, reflecting a more practical perspective. The problem is then reduced to an impulse control problem with subadditive transactio...
